So the south and midwest have thunderstorms with 125 miles per hour winds as the norm? The video doesn't capture the wind strength because of what they were filming. But even if your area wasn't hit by a tornado that day, the storm strength and the damage it caused was pretty major.

Let's just end this sniping right now.
Here it is, the Mother Of All Storms....

We were hit with five inches in southern Virginia.
The next day another two inches fell before we could claw our way out.
That weekend we were pounded with another inch and a half.

Three days of shear Hell.

I was running in this storm, lol. At the time I had just got out of the subway and just thought it was rain (hard pouring rain). I didnt have a umbrella so I just took of running towards the house then I realize things were flying in the air and I was soak in wet as if I jumped in a pool with all my clothes on.

Same amount of precipitation except in hail over a half hour.

We have a lot of northern transplants here in NC. When it snows, they are usually the ones in the ditches for driving too aggressively. Ice is ice. It isn't any less slick if you move 500 miles south. lol

BOT... What kind of tornado coverage doesn't have trailer park footage? No destroyed mobile homes, and it didn't happen.

during spring and fall, we have thunderstorms and occasionally tornadoes. I know that south of here was hit by an f3 or f4 tornado a few years ago, although a majority of the tornadoes we get are barely f1s. I know parts of IL have seen f4s and f5s, but I am unsure of frequency.

But when it comes to wind, we are in the flattest area of the country. it could be a nice day and we'll have 45 - 60 mph winds.

what really sucks is the snow. last winter we got a storm that dumped 13" in about 8 hours... which sucks, when you're in a grad class 45 minutes from home...

Guys down south better shut yer yap's.

It hit's -40o up here for weeks at a time and we deal with it.

It's considered a state of emergency when it hit's -5 there for a day or two and you all cry because your precious oranges might freeze.

My truck still isn't fixed after the last hail storm we got hit by which pebbled the truck with golf ball sized hail.

We have weeks of 100*+ days with humidity at 60-90%.

A few years ago we had a storm pass by and drop SOFTBALL sized hail.

I'd like to see you yanks deal with that.

OH YEAH! I've seen big as a car, now try and beat that. Broke my camera into a million pieces or I'd post the pictures..... well maybe not. :o JK Went through Odessa Tex. and saw an old friend on the way to AL. this summer. He told me about a friend who went with his wife to a dealer about 40 mi. away to buy a new F-150. They had a wedding to attend (Sat.) after they left the dealership and were about 50 mi. into the trip when a Tex. hail storm caught 'em. They pulled over and it broke every window out of the truck. I don't have to tell you what it did to the sheet metal. Their new truck was totaled with 54 miles on it before they ever made it to the wedding, much less home. If you've never been in a Tex. hail storm (I have), I can tell you that you don't want to be. Baseball sized hail stones will kill every animal that is outside.

I swear back when i raced MX we were at a national and raced through something like that here in Florida. It was a night race, lit track, and you couldnt see a damned thing. The bottle neck hole shot was wilddd. However we only had like 20 quads run it, that was about half what ran the first heat. You would hit a jump to the far left and land to the far right, or off the track. It was dumb.

edit:
Try working in an all steel building, 100 degrees outside, the building acts as in oven. Its cooler to walk outside in the sun then it is to be in the shop. Not to mention we have a wash bay for washing the tractor trailers and with the extra humidity, its just disgusting. Probably one of the few shops you would see all the mechanics wearing shorts and t shirts.
