The American
Saw the American when it came out a few weeks ago & other than the nice scenery I think it sucked, it raised more questions than it answered, I was expecting something quite different. The new Resident Evil was good & yesterday we went to see "The Town" that was'nt bad either!
I was there this past weekend and saw the movie there.
I do live in the hinterland. But that doesn't mean I can't travel. There is life in Kansas City, only a few hours away. As they say, "everything's up to date in Kansas City!" When I get home sick, meaning when I yearn for plumbing, electricity, paved roads, and an upscale shopping experience (which these days has been reduced to anything besides WalMart), I go to K.C.

I used to like George Clooney alot, then he had to go all political like a typical Hollywood moron actor.
Does this movie have any political biased type message in it or is it just a good flick? Just curious, it does look interesting...

You're kidding... Right? Complete waste of time, unless you have a man-crush on George Clooney. Slow, and no challenge at all seeing what was coming around every turn... (Except the opening scene.) Movie cliche' after movie cliche'. I even called the exploding rifle gag. Nice looking ladies though...

I haven't seen The American myself, but I do work at a movie theater. I have not had many people leaving the movie at the end saying it was anywhere near good. However countless guests have left the movie early saying it was terrible. I wanted to see it at first, but after about 5-6 people at least per show coming out and getting refunds, I changed my mind.
The Town on the other hand, is a good movie and well worth seeing.

I just make up an excuse that I was offended in some way.
I didn't even make up an excuse for the last Clooney movie I saw.
The manager asked me why I was offended by 'The Men Who Stare at Goats'.
I said, "You're kidding. Right?"
It's about an American assassin in Italy. It's about someone coming to terms with who they are and what they do and what their life has become. Is it predictable? Totally. Is it slick and flashy? Nope. Will most people think it's boring. Yup. Is it a good movie? Yup. Is it a "great" movie? Nope.

And no, I have no man-crush on Clooney. The chick who played the female assassin (Thekla Reuten) is absolutely crush-worthy however.
That's not really a good indicator because I always ask for a refund after I see a movie. I just make up an excuse that I was offended in some way.
