Just bought a new toy. I havent bought a gun in a couple years. But I always said the day I turn 21 I will have the pistol I wanted.

So today I put it on layaway because I dont turn 21 for a few more weeks.

But I got what I wanted! Springfield XD, 4 inch barrel in .40. Came with the Springfield hard case, 3 mags, acc attachment for the tac rail and a holster.

Few more weeks ill be 21 and pay her off then its mine!

 

I have a xd 9mm and i love it, i am thinking about getting the xd 40 sub compact also as my conceal carry weapon.

 

I like the 9mm. I used to use one in the Navy but those oh so awesome M9's (Military guys know how "awesome" they are LOL). But the 9mm round is perfect for a carry gun IMO, But I like the extra knock down of a .40 so I ended up with it. And its also a perfect carry round.


Im going to get my CCW here as soon as I can scedual the class too.

 

I have the Springfield armory xd 3" subcompact .40 I LOVE IT!

 

I did the same thing when I was 20 with a brand new GLOCK 17. Pictures somewhere in my gallery.

 

XD is a great little gun...the 4" will shoot nice in the .40. I carry a XD sub 9MM off duty because of the mag capacity, reliability and abilty to shoot follow up rounds with fast succession. .40 in sub has a little more kick, little slower on follow up rounds but great mag capacity for a .40 sub.

I have a Sig P220 .45 I carry on duty.....thinking about getting a Sig P229 Dak...just don't want to drop the dough.

Congrats on the new gun; have fun spending all your mod money on .40 ammo

Look into a crossbreed holster for concealed carry....very comfortable and work well with the Xd's

 

You'll be pleased with the XD. Time to get your CCW now.
