True, but they had him under control, I see no need to shoot him. I could have seen shooting him if he would have had a piece of one of the officers in is mouth, then fire away. But don't shoot a dog that is in scene detained. That's like shooting someone with hand cuffs on them, they just about are helpless.
They just stunned him to prevent themselves from getting attacked and infected with rabies. Its not like they shot the dog with .45 I didnt see anything wrong with that. (im a dog lover by the way)
There has to be more to the story then the video shows. The officer is clearly pissed at what he had to do, you can tell that by his actions with the tailgait and dog chain he throws into the back of the truck.
I to wonder what was really going on. From the video the dog did not look aggressive, only scared. To a person who loves dogs it is a disturbing and heart breaking video to watch I truly hope there was a very legitmate reason.

Typical cop video, we have no idea what was going on prior to the video, for all we know, that dog could have just mauled a little girl, and there is no animal control close enough to respond.
Of course everybody has their opinon on it with zero to little info.

Alright i watching the video again a little closer...my bad. that is ****ed up. The one cop had his stun gun out which would have been the more appropriate way to handle the dog if in fact he did come at the officers. I didnt see anything that would justify the 4 eyed cop to kill the dog. The dog let the cop put a leash on him and was fully cooperating. Thats too bad. Unfortunately this stuff happens all the time...not everyone has the same morals. I find it pretty unbelievable that they actually fined the owner $150 for failing to register his dog and for not muzzling a "vicious animal", even though he killed their pet. That dog didnt look to vicious to me.

Should edit your post to tell people to fast forward to 4:40, that was a lot of useless video.
After reading the reports and seeing the extended video, it sure does seem as it was uncalled for. It's too bad they officers won't be facing charges.

Its hard to speculate but, I think in small towns/cities where the law enforcement have not alot to do, some of there heads swell up just as much as in NYC or LA etc. I know around here they seem like they are just short of Brock Lesnar walking around with the belt on his waist.
Either way I can't say that I will miss any sleep over the dog but I do wonder what happens when one of us man women child steps over the edge are we gonna get the dogs treatment? I think they should be moved to the Department Of Corrections in there state for a few years, take the guns and weapons away and stand before those you manhandle like that toe to toe for a few years. It will give you a new respect for people in general the good and bad.
