Barack Obama could care less about the long-term fiscal health of this country -- the only thing that worries him is having his "political a$$" handed to him on a silver platter this coming November.....
This isn't just Obama. I think we need to change the President's terms. In the First term, they are just working on getting relected for the second term. It should be 1 six year term. So they can "focus" on the task at hand rather then working for relection. 2 cents.
^^^Thats not the worst idea I've heard. Your absolutly right, as soon as p;residents get elected, they pretty much start campaigning for their second term. The last thing he needs is more tax dollars to spend...
It's just money, guys... money that your kid's kid's kid's kid's kid's kid's kid's won't be able to pay back... Why worry?
BTW, that's pure sarcasm. I hope and pray he's out of office the next go-round...

Althought they're all trying to get re-elected, they're all banking on the fact that they'll be out of office before anybody figures out how much of a mess they've created. And, since the next generation of politicians will probably be even better liars than the current crop, nobody will ever figure it out! Man, what a system!
I used to think that the liberals had better watch out this fall. Now I believe that any incembent (regardless of party) had better watch out. I remember the good old days when you could tell a Republican from a Democrat. (A friend of mine used to say he was 10 years old before he knew that "god damn" and "Democrat" were separate words.) Now, all of them spend like drunken sailors. Throw them all out!

I think they a ALL need to be run out of office as well.....who in the heck they think they are spending money like they have it? O wait, they'll just print some more LOL. Freaking idiots!!!!!!!!
It's those damned socialistic Massachusetts government types that believe everything is a problem that the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT should fix with FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SPENDING on a NEW FEDERAL GOVERNMENT program.
A wise man once said, "Those that don't know their history are doomed to repeat it". Unfortunately, the idiots that we have in Washington have never read The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire, nor remember what truly started the War Between the States (Civil War). There is a revolt going on today, and let's just hope that the upcomming election gives we, the Americans, the change we are really looking for.

b) Nope, Every president is responsible.

Man, I can't catch a break! Here at home I'm lambasted for being a conservative, and in the rest of the country it's assumed that because I was born here and haven't left (yet), I'm a Ted Kennedy lovin, Obama *** kissin, bleeding heart, flaming, progressive. There are a hand full of conservatives here in Massachusetts who want to rid government (state and federal) of the progressive democrats and liberal republicans who are now running the show.
No offense to you, wittom, I should have said, "Northeastern liberal socialistic government types", the types that have predominantly been in power in the northeastern United States since the Revolutionary War (and ran it into the ground, BTW). Unfortunately, I picked the one place that typifies that type of socialistic liberal governing style that I wanted to describe (Can you say former governer Michael Dukakis?). Like I said, no offense to you.
No offense. It is Massachusetts after all.
Maybe some day there will be enough conservatives in Massachusetts to vote in some actual public servants which might help to rid the state of it's stigma. Some day.
