BBQ Competitions

Just wondered if anyone knows if you can buy or sample bbq ribs at these competitions around the country? I see on tv that they cook far too much to enter and wondered what happens to the extra. I would like to try bbq the way its supposed to taste.

Every cook off I've ever been to the cooks have always handed out samples. I would hate to go to a cook off where they didn't.

Exactly what Ian said. Buy a ticket, pack a cooler, show up, eat, get in good with a team, eat and drink with them. Good times, good times!!
