My friends restored 71 vette
Split chrome bumpers front and rear only came on the 68 to 72 Vetts. The 73's just had one on the rear and in 74 they disappeared altogether if I remember correctly. Ones that look this nice are very hard to find.

'71 would have been one the last years before all the smog mandates too... Maybe it was '73? So, NO cats or O2 sensors or any of that stuff.. It's probably still a dual point dist for that matter!! Does anyone even remember how to adjust actual points anymore?? ha, ha!
I remember doing it as a teenager way back when on my old '71 LTD and Dad's '71 F250... We had a '73 Impala that had points on it too at that time! What an ordeal and you had to do it every 20,000 miles! but at least you could, re-tune the carb, set the timing, dwell, points and a plug change in under an hour!
Other then a 1963 Split Window or a '65 - '67 427, the '68 - '72 Stingrays are still my favorites! Just about the only Chebby's I do care for!! I'll take a '57 Bel Air or Nomad and you can't deny, those early to mid '60 Impalas were pretty cool too..

My uncle has a 71 Stingray. Convertible w/ the hardtop. 454 4 speed Black on black on black. SUPER nice car. I drove it back to my grandmothers house when he first bought it in 91... Scared the poopie right out of me. Monster torque from that BB.
it is definently a small block and the fact that he put on an edlebrock intake tells me that a #'s matching car was not a priority.
from 70 to 71 chevrolet started rating their cars from gross sae hp to net sae horsepower so the motor that made 300 hp in 1970 made 270 in 1971.
by the mid 70's it was smogged up and low compression and down to under 200 hp.
unless it is an lt1 350 that made 330 hp, i doubt that is what it is.

quote Not quite as clean as Buckdropper's boyfriend's car but someday it will be (especially the engine bay )
quote.... boyfriend??? i'll cut you deep and wide!!!!!
It is not for sale and yes it's a 350 with a soft cam. numbers match.

72' was the last year although sometimes I wonder. The tag on the console says it's rated at 260 hp. Seems kind of low for a 4bbl 350 4spd and it certainly runs like it has more than that. Watching Barrett Jackson they always say that often the hp ratings from the factory in the muscle car era was listed a lot lower than the true numbers. Not sure on these but maybe.
But, yeah, on the high end muscle cars of the time, all the HP ratings were really down played at the time for Insurance reasons... I've heard of upwards of 100 or more hp.. I heard it said that on the 426 HEMI's that were rated at 425 hp or something like that, it was grossly under rated and that it could pull that number if it had a couple of plug wires removed...
They also had many different HP 'versions' of the same displacement engine back then too.. Wasn't an LT1 rated at 350 hp? But it had solid lifter cam, huge carb and like 11:1 comp ratio... Your 260 hp 350 probably has a milder, hydo cam, 9 or 10:1 comp and a smaller 4bbl. But, I'm sure it feels pretty good all the same!!

It dyno'd at 308hp... I did most of the underneath work and i must say i did a fine job. Sandblasted everything, had front bumper repaired and rechromed, the rear bumper is new OEM GM bumper from a dealer friend and was 179 bucks!!! great deal.
