Offensive posters in public school classroom...
Unbelievable!
You won't believe what California school officials found on a classroom wall.

Honestly, what is this world coming to?

Sorry to say, but I'm not surprised.
I could go on about how this symbolizes many changes for the worse in our country.
But really, what's the point?
Seriously, the country we grew up in is gone. Restoring a few of the nostalgic items we remember from grade school won't be bringing it back.
I guess I better shut up and get back to work so I can afford to pay my taxes this quarter.

I do believe in the separation of Church and State, just as our for fathers intended it. It is not the schools place to express such things.
I wish we could put nativity scenes on public property etc. But it is the Lawyers that have made the whole belief a 3 ring circus.
But our For fathers came here for religious freedom(one of the reasons). I believe that in the future, we will grow to appreciate those laws. We Christians are becoming a minority. So we really do want to keep religion out of schools, and other public places.
As far as the word God in so many of our national heritage and motto's, the fact is, they just say "God" and that is a generic term for the belief of the Creator, not the name of God himself. Whether you call HimYHWH, Allah, Yeshua, or whatever is a persons own business. But the term God is not offensive to anyone, with exception to the atheist, and really why should they care, because they already know they have superior intelligence over the rest of us.
But in the end, Creation as well as evolution should be taught in science, because both, I believe to be true. But I know the truth, and I teach it to my children as it should be done. That is the root of belief.

Gay pride-Brown pride-Black pride all seem to be the mantra today. Try to throw AMERICAN PRIDE (which to a certain degree is made up of thosr mentioned) in there and some somehow you are a biggot!
I for one am a Boy Scout leader and you can't believe some of the cr** we catch, but we keep building a better America one young man at a time. A little effort and guidence goes a long way, I am glad to see signs like that at any school.

A few points to ponder:
1. There is no "separation of church and state." This is a phrase liberal/socialist/atheists came up with. They say it's in the Constitution but it's not. What the Constitution states in the 1st amendment is "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. . ." This has been interpreted as that the "federal government" will not establish a "national religion" as was the case in England at the time.
2. This teacher had these signs up for like 15 years. Somebody complained because they felt the school may some day get a muslim student who would be offended. The court ruled the signs stay and that we cannot be compelled to act a certain way because some "imaginary" muslim student may come along.
This is where this liberal/leftist/socialist PC crap is taking this country.

#1 Our President, does not have to have a religious leader guiding his decisions as the did in earlier history. Through out the Middle and Dark ages, the Church had the largest control over the Kings and other monarchs of the European Nations, and are still in power today in the Muslim nations
#2 Maybe so. But in keeping those posters off of public property, it sets a standard by which following majorities will have to follow.
It may sound far fetched. But Population demographics (dur to our current imigration laws) are changing fast. So at some point in the future, a Religion you don't agree with could be the majority of the citizens of this Country. there then would be chants of religions you don't agree with going on at your public schools.
Sound extreme? Maybe. Possible? Yes.

I believe the founders wanted to demonstrate that there is a power higher than ourselves, the generic term for GOD. Also in stating that all men are equal means I am not above you or the other way around. Now my definition of GOD may very well be different than yours but since we are "equal" politically speaking we have no grounds for arguement. So by using the word GOD it allows us to agree to disagree. It in no way establishes a religion.
I for one am a christian, I believe in Jesus Christ, but if you want to follow Budda, Mohamad, or tinker-bell that is an individual choice. Now if you want to kill me and my family in the name of tinker-bell then we're gonna fight! And liberty dictates that if you want to believe in tinker-bell (peacefully) I should defend that right.
Problem is people think if you utter the word GOD it is equivalent to screaming alla akbar and slitting someone's throat--THAT IS PC BS at it's best. And that is the part I think that gets Real Sniper's panties in a wad---and mine too!
I stated in post #5 God is not the name of God, it is merely the term that through out history referred to a supreme being. If you need more answers than that you need to take it up with your deity. Because it is not within my capabilities to teach you more.
All I'm saying is when you refer to God, you are not calling a God by name.
Did you read post #5?
If you simply want to create argument on the subject, you have the wrong person. Arguing this subject is like playing tic tac toe. The outcome is the same every time

When you say majority, you mean the christians right? They are the only group having their religous beliefs taken off walls.

At least that is my opinion, but that and a few dollars will get you a fancy cup of coffee

Yes I did read post #5. My thought is that using the term GOD does not constitute establishing a religion, GOD refers to all those you mention. I think without the aknowledgment of a GOD then people fill that void with themselves as the higher authority, much like our current congress. I would much rather have a neighbor who is willing to accept GOD than someone who thinks they are themself the SUPREME POOBA which takes away the equality part of our founder's efforts.
Also God,weather a person likes it or not, IS a big part of our herritage which should be taught in our schools. This is America and this is where we came from and those who do not know history are doomed to repeat it. I think that if the "sacred muslim cow" or athiest is offended by that then they need to go somewhere else, but that's just me! To take GOD, the term, out of our schools and off of our currency, buildings, and documents only denies who we are and where we came from. And the past can be a very good road map of where we are headed.
I would play tic-tac-toe with you as long as I can go first and bring Tinker-bell!!
