Noob question

Hi all,

It's been quite a few years since I've owned a pickup. Well, I just got back from Iraq for the fourth and last time and figured I would treat myself to a better vehicle. I am single and no matter how I try I can't beat a truck for versatility. If you are going to have only one vehicle- make it a truck!

So I found a nice, lightly used F150 (always been a Ford guy) and brought it home. I love this truck! I do have one question:

Everyone talks about the 'rake' in these trucks. I've measured mine over and over and my front end sits just less than a quarter of an inch HIGHER than my rear... so the question is- How can I easily tell if I have a leveling kit already installed? I can't see any metal spacers above the coils...

Thanks in advance!

Lyn

It looks leveled to me. There are leveling options out there other than the plates. It may have the leveling shocks on it.

Nice truck! If you don't see a spacer above the front coils then look and see if the front shocks are bilstien or rancho. Both of those brands make some that can level the front as well.

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, it looks leveled to me too. The shocks look like they're stock, definitely not the Bilsteins.

Now to just get that Gryphon!

Welcome Lyn! Nice truck, it probably has the spacer on top of the coils.

ETA: Thank you for your service to this country.

Thanks guys!

The more I drive this thing, the better I like it! I can't believe I managed to find a used truck EXACTLY like I wanted. So often you have to settle for "close" when buying used.

The previous owner set this one up nice. It has the Harley edition headlights, leather, heated/memory seats, audiophile/navigation, sunroof, backup sensors, towing package, 20in rims (the dealer installed new 275/65 Nitto Terra Grapplers). About the only options it doesn't have is the full trip computer and remote start. Guess you can't have it all...

So ya'll are the experts- what mods should I install first? I ordered some LED tail lights/third brake lights with the black shroud to match the headlights...and I really want a Gryphon programmer to get the most out of the truck. What else? Show me what you guys have!

Go ahead and order up the Gryphon, can't tell you about the custom tunes as I'm still waiting on them. Just the canned tunes had me grinning and giggling like a little girl.

Tint the front windows to match, couldn't tell from the pic if they were or not.

Hack the muffler off and run straight pipes out the back.

Is that something hanging down from the front of that truck, or is that a weed growing up threw the asphalt or gravel?
