BP disaster... Was it an accident?

I know some of you guys have surely asked yourself if some terrorist group may have found a way to sabotage the BP rig. (Whether it be our enemies, or some activist group.) I stumbled across this article today, and decided to share. I'm not sure what to think about it, but if true... Well, let's just say it's scary.

Here are a few more that deal with subs and N. Korea...

This no doubt comes from the same group that contend the Twin Towers were taken down by the U.S. It's quite obvious this blow out occurred at the well head, a good 80' above water level and out of range of any torpedo.

OK, I'm pretty dense. What do you mean, the blow out occured 80 feet above the water. It is leaking a mile down. You lost me there, as I know nothing really about the terminology on oilriggs. I have been to a museum though. It was by a Holiday Inn express.

Did this same group also claim we destroyed the WTC?

According to independent witnesses that were fishing at the rig when it happened claim that the the methane gas relief valve blew first. Then there was a huge explosion of the methane gas resulting in the rig burning and sinking. The pipeline that is leaking is one the bottom of the Gulf. There was no torpedo or any kind of underhanded crap going on other than typical Haliburton incompetence. The independent witnesses post I think was linked here at F150online. Might do a search for it. It also has pics of the rig exploding although not great pics.

You would have to be familiar with the design of an offshore drilling platform to understand what I'm referring to. Here are the specifications for the Deepwater Horizon. You see the derrick on the top of the platform. At the base of the derrick is where well head would be located. That is where the discharge from the well exploded and caught fire. A torpedo would have hit one of the pontoons and immediately capsized the rig. The rig burned for at least a day before it started to list and eventually sank. Eyewitnesses state that a high pressure methane gas began escaping from the well head about a minute before the explosion.

Yeah not happening....

From what I keep hearing(I'm in the oil and gas engineering business, primarily upstream), is that some BP employees was ignoring some key steps and cutting corners so they look good to their bosses...

My personal conspiracy theory hinges on eco-terrorist operatives, dressed as sea otters, infiltrating the rig and setting off fire-crackers.

Sounds as if you have had personal experience with such escapades.
