"So what'cha what'cha what'cha want?
A you're so funny with the money that you flaunt
Where'd you get your information from huh?
You think that you can front when the revelation comes?"
A little Beasie Boys reference, for those in the know.
No, this isn't a thread about the Beastie Boys. I'm curious as to where people are getting their information from. Information about anything, but I'm especially curious where people are getting their "news" from.
We here about all of this misinformation that's being spread. Who is spreading misinformation? Who is giving us the facts? Online, in print, on TV, where ever. Do you think that the lines between news and commentary being blurred? If so, why do you think that is? Is it possible to get your "news" from a comedy network? Should our government take action to require competing points of view, or are the American people smart enough to pick out the necessary facts to come to informed opinions?

About four years ago the webmaster mentioned 'The Onion' and since then that's where I go to get all the hard news straight up.

What I read infuriates me sometimes but, it is the world we live in.

Fox News for broadcast news. ABC,CBS,NBC and CNN are way to biased for me anymore. Just compare them and Ovomit's handling of the gulf oil disaster versus them and Bush's handling of the gulf post Katrina. Bias? How more obvious can it get?
I consume news from many sources. In order of time spent, I'll say:
Local Newspaper (left leaning for sure, but not as bad as most newspapers)
Fox News (right leaning, but not nearly as far right as the haters say)
Talk Radio (mostly conservative)
Internet (wide range of sources from all sides, but I gravitate conservative)
Left leaning main stream broadcast news (CNN/NBC/CBS/ABC)
Far Left mainstream sources (MSNBC)
In general, I find the conservative sources such as Fox and Talk Radio are far more intellecutally honest than the MSM and the left sources. I hate to have my intelligence insulted, and that happens regularly with NBC, CBS, Yahoo! News, etc...
The hosts on MSNBC just have a totally different world view than me. I'm a hardworking, middle age male that supports my family without government assistance, and I resent high taxes. So, basically, I am the enemy and all that is wrong with America in their eyes.

I do admire the work of Shepherd Smith.
The rest of the FOX guys are purely entertainment (Beck, O'Reilly, Hannity).
Get the same entertainment from the MSNBC group, (Matthews, Schultz, Olbermann, Maddow).
Some fun stuff:
Matthews mouth is sometimes about a half second ahead of his brain, to his disadvantage.
O'Reilly refuses to utter Olbermanns name,
while Olbermann makes O'Reilly an almost daily nominee for 'Worst Person In The World'.
Maddow recently went after Obama with a glee thought only to be reserved for Republicans.
Schultz assumes his audience has no education and even fewer brain cells.
Hannity is as disingenuous as they come. Don't you think he ought to apologize for that?
Beck - I'm surprised he isn't bent out of shape about license plates because if he researches it, he'll find that the Founding Fathers didn't approve, condone or even know about this practice, so it's got to be bad for the Folks.
Also, all these shows stagger their repeats so they don't compete at the same time twice in one day.
Great entertainment. Information?...not so much.

Fox has news? I thought all they did was commentary programs.
I get all my news from some local radio station when I wake up. They through out the top stories, but don't flesh it out or get deep into it.

CNN for main headlines on my palm pre, then Google to read more in depth on something of interest.
I really can't stand MSNBC or Fox, both lean too far in either direction to me, so I only watch bits for a good laugh.

Here's one that seems like one of the Onions satire pieces.
CNN Money-What's really behind SEIU's Bank of America protests?
Reading this one, you almost think there is going to be a punch line. There isn't one though. Who is covering this story besides CNN's financial arm? Isn't this "news"?
Big Government-SEIU Storms Private Residence Terrorizes Teenage Son of Bank of America Exec
Sorry, I'm not as funny as some people here, but I'm wondering if this story is gettting any attention in the MSM?

I've been getting my news from Walton and Johnson for about 25 yrs. They have been giving the straight fact's and not afraid to step on some peoples toes. Serving the New Orleans and Houston areas and also the Gulf Coast region. Funny as **** too!
