my "new" comfy cruiser

My girl and I have always loved to pedal around town together. But last summer was my first season of riding my sport bike to work on a daily basis. When I got home from work, my back side didn't feel like riding my mountain bike...so I decided to get me something a little more comfortable!

I had always wanted an adult trike. Yeah, I know it seems weird. But that's me in a nutshell. After some Craigslist searching, I found this used (probably early 80's) Huffy Villager trike! Smurf blue with white cables and some nasty, dry-rotted tires. The price was right and I had to have her!

It's been some work...but I love it now. My fiance has an Electra Rat Rod and I kinda tried to make a copy of that paint scheme...that was the easiest part. The tires on the trike were an antiquated size (1x1-3/8") which is difficult to find replacement tires/tubes for. I then found an early-90's mountain bike for $10 which gave me a new front fork, front 26" wheel/tire, a working hand brake, a working shifter mechanism, and newer pedals. Next, I found another used mountain bike (a freebie this time) which gave me two 24" wheels/tires. I had to have a bike shop do some spoke work...matching the 24" outer rim to the inner hubs from the rear of the trike. I just got those back this weekend and this is my "new" comfy cruiser that cost me <1/3 the cost of a new adult trike...I call her Unholy Driver!

Needs a back pad thing.

Oh oh and one of those clown horns with a bell. That would be sick. Then throw on a fake bike license plate that says "STUNNA" and you will be rolling in style.

Good land sakes almighty! That's one Super-sized seat. Looks like it's made for comfort for a Guy or a Gal! You have to sprinkle a little powder in your hair when you ride that thing? JK
