NY EZPASS Class/Axle Question

I got NY EZ PASS, and I'm picking up a tractor that requires the use my single axle trailer. Do I have to do anything with my EZPASS or should I just take it off and deal with a regular toll? Or does it figure out the number of axles and weight automatically?

I looked all over their site, and couldn't figure it out.

I just don't want to be hit up for toll evasion.

Leave EZPass on. Go through regular toll lane. If theres no problem they will just let you go through.

My parents used to tow a single axle pop-up and from what I remember you don't have to register it with ezpass.

You dont have to do anything, I tow my snowmobiles on I90 every winter back and forth to Rome where Ill head north from there and have never had an issue with my EZ pass.

You have to use staffed lanes. Ref: page 6

Who cares? if they want to take you to court over it then let them. Chances are they're not going to hunt you down over .30 or something like that.

NYS tolls are serious business. I know someone that was mailed a ticket for going a little over the speed limit in the EZ pass lane.

I agree 110%... My friend got a ticket for doing 22 mph in a 20 ez-pass lane. They don't mess around. I do 10 mph or less going through those damn things. I've seen some motorist practically stop in those lanes just to be safe.

The last thing I need is a stupid ezpass violation to tend with.

Yeah, they will revoke your ezpass and even send tickets home. I've heard of bad stuff they can do.

I just don't like messing with the toll evasion and speeding.

You don't have to do anything but the speed limit, lol. NYC tolls are the reason I bought I new SINGLE Axle trailer instead of tandem. Try going across the Verazzano and see how much it will cot you
