news tonight!!

goverment wanting to put a black box in our vehicles.... WTF!! anyone hear of this yet? its going to be on the news tonight.

Yeah, this is true. My understanding is that the government will put black boxes in all vehicles and will reimburse each register owner the exact amount of money spent on gas. I don't understand why anyone would be against this proposal. It's another way to get free government money. Those who are against this must be racists!!!

^^ Wrong. It's so they can collect a "use tax". You will be taxed on the number of miles you drive each year, and the amount of gas you use.

Your sync transmits your mileage to syncmyride.com now, so basically the boxes are already there.

I thought the black boxes monitored how often you visit fast food restaurants. They will be calibrated to determine the weight of the food you just bought and will be used to determine your medical insurance premium.

This will be expanded in the future to determine if you stop and shop at liquor stores, tobacco stores, etc. They will use this information to mandate chemical dependency treatment.

Black boxes have been in use for years in some cars already.
