I already have a blackberry and love it, sprint is running a promotion right now that if you trade in a blackberry on a new blackberry they give you and extra 50$. However that HTC evo is freaking sweet and I won't mind dropping the extra coin on it due to its amazing specs and the 1ghz snapdragon. So what do yall think?

I can't say how the EVO specifically would work but since it uses Android 2.1 I think it would be a great phone.
I have the Moto Droid on Verizon and even with a slower CPU than the EVO it's still really fast. We just got Android 2.1 a few weeks ago and the updates Google made are nice.

Android is nice esp vs2 and up, but I have had no problems with my Bberry it has been a wonderful phone and very reliable. I just think I am going to have to give the Evo a try its just to much power in 1 phone to not give it a shot. I don't even live in a 4g area and I still think it is worth it.
I just recently got the BB 9700 Bold and could not be happier. Know some that have the Droid as well as the Iphone and they have lots of problems with dropped calls. I think it depends on if your primary desire is a game/internet toy or a phone.

I would get the EVO only because I have the new blackberry 9700 and I hate it. I used to have an Iphone and blackberrys cant do anything IMO they are good texting phones thats about it.
And an HTC with the andriod software is sweet.

I have a curve 8330 right now, and my wife has the HTC Hero neither of us have problems with dropped calls. Maybe its the Iphone being on a horrible network(at&t) and the Droid being a Motorola.
I read where it is a common problem.
On the Droid, have a friend with one.

At&t is absolutely horrible in north Texas, plus they have the smallest 3g network out of the big 3 carriers. Plus the Iphone is not known for its great reception.
Mine too, it cost me all of $14 at Wally World. It doesn't take pictures, have a keyboard, get online, have fancy backgrounds or ringtones but it does allow me to make a phone call if I get stuck somewhere!
I don't know about the droid personally, but every Motorola phone I have had has been junk and got horrible reception. The Droid is built by Motorola, the evo is built by HTC.
I have not dropped a single call on my Moto Droid in the 4 months I've had it. Prior to this I had a HTC Touch Pro on US Cellular and that thing would drop calls and just not receive them for hours at a time.
Before that I had a Moto RAZR on US Cellular and that was probably my favorite phone I've ever had after prior to the Droid. It died after 2 years of use and abuse from me. It was dropped, and scratched to hell but it still worked and never once dropped a call.
The Droid has an aluminum case has has enough weight to it that it feels solid. It's not super light and flimsy feeling.
