Oil spill in Gulf=Higher gas prices?

Who takes the blame for the massive clean up, loss of product and the most important loss of lives. Transocean who was drilling for BP. BP who contracted them to drill the well. Halliburton who now they say may have screwed up the cementing job or the builder of the faulty blow out preventer and a couple of other things that could have prevented this accident. My real question is will BP raise their prices at the pump to cover the billions they will have to pay out or will the rest of the oil companies band together and raise their prices too? Some other oil companies are pitching in to help clean up only because they are member's of the clean Gulf association so I guess that would justify them jacking up their prices too. Government assistence through the Superfund will be used too, higher taxes will replace this. End result I think is $4 to $5 per gallon gasoline is right around the corner. Bend over cause we're goin to get it again at the pump's!

If you'll notice gas prices go up every year around holidays and the summer, at peak travel times. Coincindence that this happens year after year? I don't think so. At least this year they don't have to make up an excuse to raise prices. As always, we, the consumer will wind up paying.

I think the price will stay normal for the time of year that it is.

There is no reason for it to go up and frankly, considering that gas is being stockpiled, there should be a drop in prices. Bloomberg shows no increase in the cost of crude and the refineries are starting to look for places to put the surplus product. But gas around here went up 7 cents yesterday- go figure. But wait, the Almighty Yomama will surely come to our aid because of the price gouging......yeah, right!

When the oil companies "open and close the valve" as they please they control what prices we pay. Last control's as far as pricing goes back to the Rockefeller day's. Thank old John D. for making our nation dependent on gasoline and diesel fuel while making himself and other's rich. Henry Ford wanted to run his vehicles on a type of ethenol and Rudolph Diesel patented his diesel engine running off peanut oil. Who needed crude oil? Got any kerosene aka "av-jet a" to light my house and power my Lear Jet! That was the big selling item from the first refineries. Gasoline and diesel were almost considered a by-product untill John D. stepped in. Now we're hooked on crude just likes junkie's on crack!

Yes if only we were running all our vehicles on Peanut oil and Corn ethanol. Just think how much our food prices would go up when the entire country is growing corn and peanuts and were importing all our food. Not to mention it would be those greedy damn farmers closing the silo valve and controlling prices.

Ya right farmers are price takers, controlling price doesn't happen has been tried and failed. Most farmers net income way less than you think it is. Yes the gross income is high but the expenses are also really high.
Most people think that the corn/soybean farmers are in the same league as wheat farmers. Ya not so much.

You have a lot to learn about the agricultural industry.
