Local-Motors

Was flipping through the April issue of Popular Science and came across an article about this company. They host design competitions then make manufacture the car that wins in the host cities. The cool part is that you buy all the parts and you go to their shop and assemble the car with a buddy while there is a professional builder overlooking and assisting you.

Thought is was a pretty sweet idea.

Hi Dnasty777, I work at Local Motors. Excited to see your post referencing the Popular Science article.

One clarification, our customers come to the Phoenix microfactory and help build their Rally Fighter. They don't have to worry about bringing all of the parts in, we will have them there already. One reason we put the first microfactory in Phoenix because the Rally Fighter is a desert racer! It's street legal too.

Email or call with questions! I put a lot of engineering updates on the development of the Rally Fighter on my twitter account if you are interested @stokessarah #rallyfighter Thanks, Sarah 480-371-6797
