NY Registration Question

It never seems to end with me...

As some of you might know, I bought a nice little Kawasaki 250R motorcycle a couple weeks ago. Well, I've been quite patient with the DMV and the dealer. Mind you, this is a registered NYS dealer and I've even asked the DMV about their registration as a NYS Licensed Dealer and made sure it was legit. Which it is.

I paid cold, hard cash for the bike. Figuring it is a NYS dealer and they can't pull any quick ones, especially with state issued tags or titles. Well, according to the temporary registration, it expired on the 15th (23 days). However, when I call the dealer, they say that it is still good for 45 days. I call BS on that one, because if that was the case, then there would be a part stating this right on the little pink form. They then said I should get it by the end of last week. Which I never did get it.

So today I decided to call the DMV Call Center and they told me that there is no bikes registered under my name of that type using the VIN, Make and Model.

I called the dealer up right after hearing that news from the DMV, and I tried to speak with the salesperson I bought it from and they said that he was out -- after putting me on hold for like 5 minutes. They then asked me to give them my phone number so they could call me back in a little while.

I waited and waited... finally after about an hour and a half, I called them back, and I asked if I could speak with the salesperson. But one of the other salesmen told me that he was busy and that I'd get my registration by Wednesday and he said I would be ok if I got pulled over for whatever reason.

What do I do or what's your opinion?

I think I'd be on the phone to the State Attorney Generals Office and have a chat with them about the business practices of this dealer.

I'll give them by Wednesday. If not, they are in for it. I'm tired of the idiotic dealers... seriously.

Who can you trust these days?! Sheesh!

I forgot about the SAGO... at least I'm protected by the laws of NY and the fact that the dealer isn't that far away.

Still tho... what the heck.

I have never left a bike shop without them putting the plates on right then and there?? Did you trailer it home? Are you local to them? If so I would end the phone game and calmly discuss in person.

They gave me a valid NYS inspection sticker and NYS plates... all I need is the registration sticker that goes on the plate.

Luckily they are only 45 minutes away...

If I dont get my registration by tomorrow, I'm calmly going over there.... and I'm not going to leave until I get my sticker...
