Ebay Problem, Help!

I buy all kinds of things on EBay and rarely have a problem, but I don't have much experience selling.

I had a sports card listed on Ebay for a 30 day listing with a BIN price as well as a Best Offer.
So tonight I check my mail and I see a message "You have an offer".

I'm pretty happy, I review the offer and accept it, then I send the guy the invoice.

Here i the cut and paste of what he writes me back after I invoiced him:

hey i have a problem i one three at one time. i dident think you would accept I already paid for one. im so sorry im new to ebay i dunno what the hell im doing. very very sorry

What are my options now? Since I already accepted his offer, my listing is dead.
How would you experienced Ebayer reply & respond, what would you do next?

I feel this kid (I'm guessing he's a kid) should be forced to buy the card since his note already admits he was playing the angles.

Thanks
Habs

I've sold a few big ticket items on Ebay, and never had a problem so I'm not really sure what the heck to do with this one.

All you can do is leave a negative feedback, and relist the card as far as I know.

Contact ebay and explain the situation so you can get your fees back and they can take action on this bum.

Don't do this...it will leave a black mark for you.I sell a fair amount on both e-bay and craigs list.Contact e-bay...explain the issue and let them tell you how to handle it.Just a mix up,but at least your account will be in good standing.

Follow through with it, then when he doesn't pay file an unpaid item dispute over it.

You can no longer leave negative feedback as a seller

I agree. Even if you don't get your money, it will make him think twice about trying to do this again to someone else. I bet you that he learns real quick how ebay works once he has a dispute filed against him.

I had some douche do the same thing on a 93 F150. He claimed the buyer of his car backed out so he couldn't buy mine. I just left negative feedback and sold the truck locally once I got my fees refunded. I hate stupid people.

Not much you can do on deadbeat buyers. I have been victim of non-payment a few times. You can change your own setting to disallow people who have had strikes against them from bidding on your items.

It is a legal contract. Definately follow through with the sale. Who cares that he bid on 3 at the same time.

Thanks guys,

I think more than anything it's the guy's careless attitude that rubs me more than anything.

"I bid on it because I didn't think you would accept my offer"

What the heck is that?

Like I said, I don't sell many items on EBay, but I buy a lot, and it really is a gigantic pain in the nuts to have someone do this.
First of all your listing gets cancelled, then you have to wait 4 days to file a dispute, and then you've got to struggle with EBay to make sure all your fees get credited back to you (and follow up to make sure it's done)

Now I can see why some sellers get so testy, especially when this is how they make their living, and they get 'several' of these incidents throughout all their listings.

I found out I can't do anything about it until 4 days has passed, then I can file an unpaid item dispute.
The days of negative feedback for buyers are gone, so that option is out as well.

It looks like (from what I've read) EBay will remove the first unpaid item strike from your record if you ask them nicely, so in reality everyone call pull this stunt once.

Selling on eBay now is retarded... their fees are outrageous. Ebay's days are numbered...

Does anyone know how to cancel a bid on EBAY?

I put in a bid for a "Mickey Mouse Outfit" and now I'm only six minutes away
from owning Obama and his entire cabinet.
