Coolant temp sensor location is there 2 of them ?

I replaced the one that goes in the driver’s side head behind the Alt which is called a CHT cylinder head temp sensor. But I have this coolant temp sensor which looks nothing like the head sensor but I can’t find the dam thing for the life of me. It’s not in the coolant cross over there was just a plug there from the factory so where is this dam thing??? I read a bunch of other post but there all for the wrong year or engine. Any help or pics would be killer guys

Apparently I didn’t search hard enough I found a thread once I typed in CHT sensor. This sucks now I have to pay $5 to mail back a useless part. The flip side to this is the local NAPA,Kraggen,Auto zone all sell this as the coolant temp sensor when in fact Ford ditched the CTS sensor altogether from 1999 on. The Chilton manuals are dam near useless for good info. This would explain why I had a plug in the coolant cross over from the factory =(

For the record: you were able to r/r the CHT without removing any other parts?

Only had to remove the Alt very simple job. The only suck part of it was I had to use a spark plug socket to R&R the sensor there’s not enough room to fit a standard deep wall over the sensor and attach a drive of any type to remove it, so I just slipped a 7/8 or maybe it was a 13/16 which was some what loose on it and then turned the hex head part of the spark plug socket by hand with boxed open end wrench.
