Pacific

Sweet Jesus this is going to be an incredible miniseries! Just watched episode 1 and it did not disappoint. At the end it showed upcoming scenes and I can only say well done once again Speilberg/Hanks...seems like it's done in true Band of Brothers fashion. Can't wait till next Sunday!

Man I totally hear you. It's going to kill me to wait until next Sunday, but it is just that good that I had to see it tonight. And it'll be nice each Sunday to watch the previous episode on demand and then watch the new one to stay caught up. Then after it's over you know I'll have to go and watch Band of Brothers again! Tonight was tough though, Black Hawk Down was on Encore and I get sucked into that one...

Yeah I thought The Pacific was really good as well, although I think almost all HBO series are good. Band of Brothers was EPIC.

i have to watch it on the internet because i dont even have cable at school, let alone HBO. but i watched it earlier and it looks pretty good. Needs more character development though. I had some tough times telling who was who sometimes. By the end of the first episode of Band of Brothers i knew who everyone was.

The first airing of BoB actually was two episodes. It was part 1 and 2. I think they should have done the same thing with the Pacific. That would have helped with the character dev.

Definitely agree. I think if you watch BoB 1st hour of episode 1, it's developing, but still a little shaky. I'm sure we will start seeing who's who in the next episode. Speilberg seems genuinely involved, not just trying to make a buck...his father is a WWII vet. Him and Hanks also spoke with vets recently in DC at the memorial about teaching younger generations and generations to come about WWII and I think as Speilberg put it, to show everyone these guys that went off and saved the world for us.

And yes, HBO does make some impressive series. I loved Rome, wished it was more than 2 seasons, and Deadwood was incredible, can't wait to see Timothy Olyphant in that new FX series Justified.

I'm interested in seeing the upcoming series Boardwalk Empire. And of course can't wait for the season premiere of True Blood.
