I had another thread started about using a garmin. This is what I have done since: I did get a usb2.0 card from Belkin (5 port). I seem to be having an issue with the computer. It recognizes the new hardware and
will try to load the drivers but I get an error saying code 12. A resource error. Is there a program I can run to get it to use different resources? I was on the device manager and found the enhanced usb but it had a yellow
! . I looked at the resource by type under view but do not see how to change to another resource? I have the ILink disabled figuring that would help, but that was a guess and I don't use it anyway. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.....
Will another say 2 port use less resources?

My computer is a Sony Vaio PCV-R553DS running XP pro 2nd edition.

Is this a card that was installed in the computer or is it a USB hub attached to an existing USB port on the computer? Just want to clarify.

 

You are probably going to have to disable the onboard USB. That computer is a dinosaur.

 

I had a slot open and added it there. I know it is old, just thought the upgrade would be a lot easier!

How do I know which one to disable? I know the new one has enhanced....so just do the other one? I thought I did that but when I rebooted it came back. THoughts....?
