Well you can't always trust the "Made in America" labels either. My brother inlaw was working at place that made wire harnesses, and sold wire accessories ( zip ties, wire nuts,etc.). And his job was to remove the made in china labels from the wire and the packaging and put on "Made in America" labels. I don't know how many other companies if any do this but I was a little shocked by it. This was about 11-12 years ago in 98-99.

When will we learn, this cannot be mandated, companies just take the work offshore.

One minute please, I need to reply to this IM from Brazil. OK, I'm back. He is helping me find an online education course that our company offers. He is good at this stuff, which has been a real benefit to helping me not getting clipped in layoffs.

Our problem is our arrogance, and currently banks and health care are leading the in the arrogance department.

It is the combination of the Tri-Lateral Commission, the Council on Foreign Relations and the Bilderberg Group. Do a Google search on any of them, it will open your eyes.

Watch our for the black helicopters.

A friend of mine worked at a plant that packaged and shipped Harley Davidson parts. He's told me that they spend a lot of time taking parts out of boxes that say "Made in China" and putting them into boxes that say "Made in America" for shipping.

I've seen the opposite lately - It seems like more and more consumer goods are coming from the USA. Right now, I'm doing a head gasket replacement and general freshening of a Mustang. I got the parts from rockauto.com, and I just did what I usually do, and got the middle of the road price parts (not the cheapest, but not the most expensive.) The brands were motorcraft, fel-pro, ACDelco (!), and a few others. I was amazed at how many were made in the US - the water pump, hoses, thermostat, spark plugs, gaskets, even the cheap hose clamps were all marked "Made in the USA."

Even the cheap USB thumb-drive that I carry everywhere is made in the USA:
http://www.testfreaks.com/blog/revie...0-flash-drive/. American manufacturing is on the rise due to the weak dollar. Take a look - there's more stuff on the market than you realize.

a lot of the stamping dies we build at work get sent to other countries to get ran. The last one we sent out was for VW and it stamped made in Mexico right on the side of the finish part. Same with the Porsche dies we built the said Slovakia on the part.

When a friend of mine was leaving for China I asked if she was going to bring me something back. In her thick Chinese accent She answered: "If you want something from China, you can go to Wall-mart."

That my friend is the flag of Japan, not China. And when it comes to buying parts for my Mazda, I would prefer the original Japanese parts, thanks.
