Smile New Camera...(kinda)...

So my room mate let me have the pleasure of taking his Canon 40D for a test spin, because he knows I'm fairly camera savy, and I will protect it with my life. I took it out for some fun shooting today around Arlington, just to get used to how it works. Instead of posting all 115 pictures here, I'll just post a link to my album as well. Enjoy!

Comments and criticism are welcome! I will be shooting some more with this, ad I have truly fallen in love with DSLRs.

I used a 40d when I did sports photography. It is a great camera and I captured some great shots with it and a 70-200 AF 2.8 lens.

Now I just have a Canon Rebel XTi

I plan on shooting a few more of my acoustic. Now that I'm slowly figuring out how this camera works. I'm used to my other friends Rebel XSi.

My room mate is the photo editor for the UTA Shorthorn, and recent (over the weekend) bought a Canon 5D Mk II, in January bought the new Canon 7D, and had 1 or 2 more Canons that I can't remember.

yes you do. then call me when you do, and I will meet you halfway between DFW and CS in a cow pasture full of pothole to take pictures.

Nice pictures, i got a D50, and love it. Haven't got much time to do as much shots as I would like with the weather. But hopefully that is about to turn around and get better around this area.

I have a 40D with grip and couldnt be happier. I had the XSi and upgraded for more FPS and better ISO.

If you plan on buying a 40D (I assume you know it is no longer in production) you will have to buy used.

I recommend this forum: http://photography-on-the.net/forum/

This is the place to be for ALL things Canon!

I have bought and sold a LOT of gear on here, including seeling my XSi and buying my current 40D. With the new 7D and the anticipated release of the 60D, 40D's are popping up all over the classifieds. A good condition body can be had in the $550-$600 range.

I have found the folks there to be as trustworthy and helpful as the folks that post on here. There is a sticky in the for sale section of the forum that has feedback on members if you decide to purchase there.

Feel free to PM me over there if you need any help my SN is: BucketMan
