Im Sorry But

I HATE YOU FIELD ARTILLERY GUYS BACK IN GARRISON.

BUT LOVE YOU GUYS WHILE IM DEPLOYED AND NEED SOME DESTROYED HAHAHA.

I live 10 miles from base and all i hear it boom, boom and boom. I was in the barracks the other night and was listening to them go off and holy cow . Ill tell you though there was one that went off and scared the crap out of me haha. I would love to do it and be closer when you guys are doing training but damm man go out further so i dont hear this anymore. We do have fisters attached to us in our line troopband all so i dont hate you guys. I love hearing it but not when im home and relaxing.

Just had to vent a little

Thanks

Be careful, they might try and hunt you down and you'll only hear one more "boom"

I can throw a rock and hit Ft. Benning from my front porch. I hear those guys out there all the time doing night fire exercises.

I think it's kinda cool personally.

Ah man, my barracks were really close to some ranges for Artillery. I remember when it was real nice outside, cracking the window open and listening to those suttle booms all night long.

Also while stationed at Ft. Irwin Cali for awhile, the sounds of the AF doing test runs on missles at crystal lake or watever was amazing. They sounded so LOUD but u knew they were so far away. Talk about putting chills on your spine.

Now that would be some to listen to right there. I love it everytime they flew above us while out on patrols. I dont know why but knowing they were above me flying around just made things better.

This thread brings to mind a sign at the front gate to the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station in Washington state. It says:

Pardon our noise, it's the sound of freedom.

Back in the Day I was 13f. You should be on the receiving end of those booms, it's a little more scary

ah the sound of freedom. i am in the air force and i listen to aircraft taking off all day. i used to work on fighters and i had to sleep through their morning take offs. 8-12 would go up first thing in the morning and i had to sleep through that when i worked night shifts.

nothing beats a pair of kiowa's doing straffing runs, followed closely the A-10's
