I've been listening to a lot of Porcupine Tree lately. "The Incident," "Fear of a Blank Planet," "Deadwing." Amazing stuff.
Pearl Jam's newest, Backspacer, is pretty good too. Not Ten, Vs. or Vitalogy good, but very good.
I'm looking forward to Jimi Hendrix's "Valleys of Neptune."
The Album Leaf's "In a Safe Place" probably helps keep me sane throughout the week in a very insane world.
Easton Corbin is very good. He reminds me of a young George Strait.
The "new" Alice in Chains with William DuVall ain't half bad. It's not their self titled album, or Dirt, or Jar of Flies, but Black Gives Way to Blue is good. I think Layne Staley would dig it.
Andy Timmons is an amazing musician and guitarist that doesn't get anywhere near the attention he deserves. So is Gary Hoey.
Buddy Guy's "Sweet Tea" is quite possibly the heaviest and meanest Buddy Guy I've ever heard. There's some serious, raw emotion at work on that album. It's awesome.
A dude I chatted with on another forum turned me onto Demians. Their album "Building an Empire" is quite awesome, IMO.
I really like the latest self titled Evans Blue album with Dave Chandler on vocals. The previous two albums with Kevin Matisyn were pretty good too.
I listen to Local H's "As Good As Dead" at least once a week. Local H rocks. I'm a '90s alternative junkie.
I got into this band, Ghinzu, as a result of their song "Dragster Wave" used in the credits of the movie Taken. They rock pretty hard too.
I think Joe Bonamassa is probably the greatest rockin' blues type dude today. Tremendous talent and tone there.
Rodrigo Y Gabriela do things with acoustic guitars that make me want to go home, burn my guitars, and give up playing. They are really freaking good.
If you're into instrumental/shred rock type stuff, check out Scale the Summit. Eight string guitars, six string basses, amazing two handed tapping, but it's still soars with melody and feeling.
I wish TRUSTcompany would come out with a new album. I think they broke up, reformed for a bit, broke up again, and last I read on their Myspace page they were reportedly recording new stuff.
Veruca Salt is a guilty pleasure of mine (see '90s alternative junkie). :o
I think the Zac Brown Band writes some of the best feel good music out there.
