Well I believe EMT can work anywhere purty good career to be in. I live in Morganton/Nebo NC. Very very relaxed area, visit
www.lakejamesreality

just hit that link and check out some of the places for sale and some of the land. I think there always looking for EMT here. Plus Catawba county is next over, its a rather larger town. Asheville is close by as well, there is a few of us NC boys on here they should chime in from Charlotte and Raleigh area.

Well I live in Gastonia, West of Charlotte. I'm 20-25 mins from night life and fine dining. Towards Dallas, Cherryville, Lincolnton, and Stanley you get that farm life but your commute goes up to around 35-60 mins depending on location.

Most my family lives around Raleigh, and I really enjoy going back there to visit.

Within 40 minutes of Raleigh, you can find a wide range housing choices.

Not as big a city as Charlotte, but IMO Raleigh has lots of nice neighborhoods and suburbs.

I live a little under an hour north of raleigh in Oxford. Its a small town with alot of land around. It is not near the mountains, but is 20min away from kerr lake which is awesome. I love it around here, nice and quiet, but not to far away from the city.

I almost moved to Raleigh, my g/f almost landed a job there. Instead wound up in Knoxville. Raleigh seems to be a great town, nice downtown, they have hockey.. worked with a guy who grew up there, he misses it. I moved from Florida, so anything is a step up..

Uncle Jesse, I am considering a move from West Palm Beach to Knoxville. If you don't mind, can you fill me in on your experience, as well as what youlike/dislike about the area? You can PM me so I don't hijack the thread. Thanks

X2, I've been living in Raleigh since '94 (originally from Detroit) and love it. As DBD said, within 30 min of the city, you can find all kinds of places with land. Plus it's very affordable. Send me a PM or E-email if you have any questions, I'd be happy to help you out.

I live in Matthews, NC just far enough outside of Charlotte to stay away from their city taxes. I am on the Southeast side of town. There are several towns around us that give ya the "country living" but still close enough to town for whatever you need. I would look in to Mint Hill, NC and the Indian Trail, NC areas. Also look into the Hunterville, NC area which is on the north side of the county (which is where 90% of the NASCAR drivers live). Also the Concord and Harrisburg, NC areas, which are on the North east side of Charlotte. If you would like cheaper taxes, and still around a 30 min drive to go out on the town. Check out Fort Mill and Rock Hill, SC areas. The next time I move, it will be to that area. I moved to Charlotte almost 8 years ago and love it here.
