Latest NC snow...

We ended up getting a couple inches of snow and ice. Spent a couple hours yesterday driving around town. We ended up going downtown for a few drinks and snapped a pic.

Anyone else get out and play any?

Looks so quiet there. I love when the snow is coming down and you can hear it crunch under your feet and that's the only sound you can hear. Unfortunately we didn't get any snow. Just really cold temps.

Hey NCSU... good friend of my son was returning from a ski visit with him at ASU in Boone. He's currently in a ditch 5 minutes from campus. Go pull him out will you?

Doh, if I had seen this earlier, I would have! I'd imagine with as many trucks as there are around campus he shouldn't have too hard of a time getting a tug.

If they're still stuck tomorrow lemme know. I might be able to swing by during lunch.

He actually called AAA and they got him out in about 40 minutes. 7 or 8 others ran off right after he did. Quite a gathering by the time the police, tow trucks and AAA arrived. His Mazda 3 is none the worse for wear. He drove it back to the dorm by later afternoon, no damage.
He said 421 out of Boone after you cross the parkway was a bit icy, but nothing bad until he got back to Raleigh, then the side streets were glazed in the shade.

Thanks anyway NCSU.

I flew from Houston up to St. Louis this afternoon. From the air it looked as if they got quite a bit of snow in southern Missouri, but by the time we landed in St. Louis it had petered out. Kind of a bummer, because this displaced Minnesota boy likes to get an occassional "snow fix" when I travel for business this time of year.....

I wish it would snow in Wisconsin... Seriously though? January and it snows in NC but not the Midwest?!?!? What the hell is that? Plow trucks can't make money if it don't snow...

But it looks like it wasn't too bad there. Nice pic.

We got about 6 inches here. I am going to play some more today due to no school! We have played in this with everything from 4 wheelers to jeeps and of course the f150s. All of the main roads are clear but the backroads have barley even been touched.
