That is funny but make no mistake, Steve Jobs will be laughing all the way to the bank.

"Will women send their husbands to the Apple store to buy iPads?" the user wrote.

Heck yeah, I'll buy one. The name funniness will go away after a short period of time. It was a weird name choice by the folks at Apple, but the research must have showed it was a go.

The bottom line is it costs the same as a double-DIN receiver and its portable.

Now to come up with a good mount for it....

Mobile vehicle mount?

Hmmm .. it ain't a Toughbook, so I'd be careful with that rotating HD. And the temperature rating of the entire device. Bu-bye warranty

It's a neutered computer...not real impressed. I am holding out to see what the specs/pricing will be for the HP Slate.

Not to leave it in my truck permanently, just to have while I'm in there.

Not sure how that will work, but the possibilities are great.

The name sucks, I'd have preferred iTab or iSlate or really anything but iPad but it's about the product, not the name.

I'd take it over a double DIN receiver any day.

lol a big ipod is all it is. if it uses the same glass screens as the ipod/iphones then i see them breaking very quickly with how big they are.

also to the guy that wanted to use it as a radio you would still have to get a proper head unit too because it doesn't have any rca ports, usb, no bluetooth, no cd player, crappy battery life, and many more things that i could think of.

I don't think a person that already owns an ipod and a laptop would have any need for this...

Buy now? Nope. I've been an Apple/Mac man since the early 80s. Mac always brings out a new product and then a few months later there's a revision - more power, better battery life, conectivity enhancement, price drop. Give it 6 mos to a year and buy a better version likely for less money.

And with an iPod, iPhone, and McBookPro already in the truck, and considering the install of a mac mini in the glove box, what would I do with it?
