Bobber motorcycle kits

Anyone ever ordered one of those bobber kits. I'm talking about the cheap 1500 and under kits. I really want to get one. Figured it would be fun to ride to the store, gym, friends, etc... Since all are pretty close to the house. Plus, it would be fun to put together. I hear anyone can do it.
Just looking for suggestions as to certain makers to go with, and whether they are worth it. Also, how fast do they go? I would need to be able to do 50ish in order to not get run over on the roads around here.

I assume you're talking about the front fender gone and the rear wheel changed to a short but fat tire. I've ridden one and the ride was anything but pleasant. If you've ever ridden a hard tail, it's about the same. Don't know where you live but I won't ride a bike in town. Last time I rode in town I ended up with the bike under a bus that ran a red light- says he didn't see me? Anyway, they paid for the bike and I have a 500 Suzuki now. Plenty for what I need a bike for but it's not a replacement for the Harley Night Train.

These things. Look like they would be perfect for scooting around town. Like a scooter, but not as gay. Only complaint I seem to hear a lot is that people have trouble getting them registered. Any ideas on the reason for that?

Yeah, that's what I rode only it didn't have a rice wine engine off of a lawn mower in it. This one had a 700 BSA engine. The one in the pic is a hard tail and you'd better have a fabulous dental plan. The ride will knock yer teeth out. Why not just get a trail bike. They get great fuel mileage and can be a hoot to ride. I can assure you some of the trail bikes are quick. My nephews 500 KTM is a screamer.
