Got in a wreck, man i love these old fords!

Well i was driving my old 91 crown vic this morning, by the way this has been the best car ever, my dad bought it brand new in 91 and she has 431000 miles on her with original motor, transmission never had a problem at all and would jump in it right now and head cross country.Anyway was cruising down the highway at 70mph this morning headed to work and there is a cross road and this teenage girl ran the stop sign and first thing i know im looking at a chevy silverado driver side door so i jerked the car to the left and hit her in the driver side front fender. Last time i looked at the speedometer it was reading about 45mph. She was okay and so am i.Her poor chevy got the worst of it . It had to be put on the flatbed and i drove my ford away from the accident and on to work. I didnt get pictures of her truck. My car has damage to the front bumper, driveside head light, driver front fender. I will post pics here in a few hours. She told the cops that she dropped her phone and went to get it and blew threw the stop sign. The funny thing was the cops checked her cell and she sent a text message at the exact same time the wreck happened so they think she was texting when she ran the stop sign. I was super pissed when it occured and after i found out she was ok i gave her a earful . Anyway she got a ticket for unsafe speed and not yeilding right of way at intersection. Im just glad we are both okay it couldve been alot worse. The damage to my car is nothing compared to that pickup, Gotta love your FORD vehicles..

431,000 miles! Wow, what a car! So glad to hear that everyone is OK. Hope your car can be repaired. Even though it's an older model and has lots of miles on it, I'm sure you'd like to keep it around. My S'crew has 190,000 on it and I would love to see it make it to 431,000! Again, glad you're OK.

KingRanch, these fords do hold up well. Last week when we had exams at school, I was backing into my parking space and a guy decided to go around me while I was backing up. The end result was 2 minor scratches on my bumper(and some mud knocked off) and $1700 worth of damage to his chevy malibu haha. Everyone was ok and I am glad to hear you and the girl are ok also.

Lol thats what i have always called it "the tank". It held up awesome.. When i left the accident scene i figured the car was going to drive like crap. A mile down the road she was cruising at 70mph like nothing happened

The car is awesome, I drive it more than the truck to keep the miles down on the truck. Plus when it rains i dont have to get the truck dirty and spend 4 hrs detailing it . Im sure its going to get totaled out by the insurance but i will keep it no matter what. My sister in law got in a small fender bender in fort worth with it a few months ago and they totalled it for a dent in the passenger rear door. Gave me a check for 2100 dollars and let me keep the car, im hoping i can do the same thing this time, They not getting my car

That explains all the miles - the early 4.6's won't last anywhere near that long. I had a friend that owned a limo service back in the 90's, and he told me his older Lincolns with 5.0's ran at least 250 to 300k with no engine work, but the newer ones with 4.6's were sucking oil bad by 120 to 150k.

Thats nothing...

My buddy had an old '89 Grand Marquis that he just got rid of with the old 5.0 v8... he never ever had a problem with it. He's now got a Ford Fusion that he said is no where equal to that Marquis.. as he is still kicking himself for getting rid of that tank.
