From NYC to Detroit, MI

I took the drive last night from NYC to Detroit to see the Auto Show and I'm blown away by the amount of products Ford have available. I also have video of me in a Ford Escape with Parallel Park Assist. I will get that uploaded on Monday when I get back to NY.

I drove a MKX about 4 months ago with the self parallel park feature. That's an extremely weird feeling watching the electric steering take control and drive the car. Did they have the new Global Focus there? That's gonna be one huge home run for Ford. I'm not fond of the front end but the rest of the car is pretty top shelf. Looking at Fords product lines and there no questioning who is the world leader in innovation and quality.

The new Focus has an upgrade on the 2.0 4 banger that will give it 20 HP more than the current engine and give another 10% in fuel mileage. It's suppose to get the 1.8 EcoBoost as soon as they get it emission certified. Then watch out cause it will be Da Bomb! It's also not targeted as an econobox. What I'm hearing is the car is slated to run against the BMWs and others in that category. I know the Euros are in love with it. The Fiesta will be the Ford econobox and it is something to see. I haven't driven one yet but it should be another winner for the young crowd that likes to put graphics, wheels, tires, etc, on their rides. It should be a dandy for the old folks too. Ford hasn't built this much excitement in decades.
