All I know is they wanna push Conan's timeslot another half-hour, and Conan no-likey.

But I heard he get's an 80mill compensation or something so who cares. Just heard that from the radio, so not sure of the accuracy.

Conan's contract said he was to get the Tonight Show last year. Leno got a show at 10:00 that not only bombed in the ratings, but killed the ratings of the shows that followed his. Thus Conan's ratings weren't too good either. Now NBC wants to bump The Tonight Show back after midnight (for the first time ever), to make room for Leno after the news and a 10:00 program that is more likely to compete with other programming in it time-slot. It's a sneaky way for NBC to get around Conan's contract, and doesn't give him a fair chance to improve The Tonight Show's ratings (that were sabotaged by Leno's failed program at 10:00).

Seems clear to me, and I tend to agree, that NBC thinks Leno is the bigger talent. I thought all along the plan to move his show - which was nothing more than the Tonight Show under a different name, would not work in the 9pm Central time slot. It didn't and now NBC wants to move Jay back into the catbird seat. Conan obviously sin't happy about that and armed with probably a deal already done to move to Fox, he's gonna stand his ground.

Frankly I don't care where Conan goes - never have found him funny. Leno is OK -but neither will ever be what Johnny Carson was to late night. Letterman can have his moments, but Arsenio, Lopez, Kimmel and all the others thru the years were just imposters. Give me a good movie or even a Frazier rerun instead!

I agree. I knew Conan would lose viewers for NBC, but not 2,000,000/night. Conan's monologues were usually pretty weak.

Even though Conan wasn't that funny, it is funny that it looks like NBC will be paying him 20mil/year to sit on a beach somewhere.

The only thing NBC has got is The Office.
