However, in my census taker training we were taught that other voluntary info is very helpful.
Income questions aren't specific, just ranges.
And the political questions are just to help draw redistricting maps, to be used for the next decade.
I was told just to ask if the household was 'R' or 'D'.
If it is 'R' I am to count noses.
If it is 'D' I am to count ears.
