Appliances

Well its getting ever closer to moving out into the appartment me and dad are building for me. I've been searching and looking at different appliances. I was wondering what are some things to look for and what are good companies to look at. I don't just want to go the cheapest route possible because when it comes to appliances I gotta believe you pay for what you get. I've priced a whole Whirlpool (Fridge, stove, washer and dryer) set for right around $2000 from best buy bit that was getting a cheaper side by side fridge with the cheaper front loading washer and dryer. So I guess I'm looking for some insight on which manufactor to narrow it down to in each area. I'm really liking this LG fridge on home depot's site but i don't know if LG makes as good of home appliances as they do cell phones. Also who knows where I can find the best deal at? It seems as if best buy has had the lowest prices that I've seen so far (thats out of a mom and pop store here in town, lowes, sears, and home depot).

You'll be hard pressed to buy any better appliances than Whirlpool. Don't look at how much you'll spend today but how much you won't spend later replacing cheap, crap appliances.

Whirlpool is probably the best for the money.

The best deal can be found when Whirlpool comes out with a new model, and Home Depot or Sears clears out the old model from the floor.

Another best deal is to find you local Sears scratch and dent or clearance center. We just got a new washer dryer. As I recall Samsung was the top for reliability, and Whirlpool the top value or seller or something like that. The best quality units are the Electrolux, but you pay big $ for those.

we go thru sears at work and have had good luck with ranges, dishwashers and fridges. they are just basic apartment appliances and the kenmore brand seems to hold up fairly well.

I kinda figured Whirlpool was pretty good. And exactly thats what my logic is. Plus when I move out of this appartment, I want something thats going to still be reliable and get me started out when I go to buy my first house.

They are made by Whirlpool, but not the quality of an actual Whirlpool.

Get yourself a B F rock and a washboard and a piece of clothesline and have at it. You dam kids today are so spoiled and have mommy and daddy giving everything to make it easy on the young lads and lassies. I remember buying used stuff when i was a younginjust starting out, there was not help we were on out own big time. Buy what your parents can afford and be happy with it.

PS whirlpool is the best and good luck

uh given to me? Nothing has been given to me. I have to buy my own appliances, I bought my own truck, every mod, my tv, everything in my room, every piece of clothing I have in the closet. Granted the only thing I don't buy is the supper that is provided for me by my parents and the roof over my head, EVERYTHING else I have either paid for at one point or is paying for now. So if you want to throw that "Everything is given to you" bull crap then take it else where because I'm getting tired of those sterotypical remarks.

Don't get all worked up, I think he meant that when he was a kid they didn't have all this fancy electrical crap so who ever has it today is "spoiled"

Whirpool is a pretty good brand. Like was posted earlier, you can get really good deals on something at Sears when they have a scratch and dent sale. Got a small fridge from there once for store price once.
