Transfer songs from ipod to computer???

This kinda goes along with a problem I have. Our computer crashed the other day and we had our itunes on there. We ended up buying a new Imac. I realize we probably have lost all of our itunes music at this point. When we hook our Ipods up to our new comp its saying we are not authorized to to transfer the music from our Ipods to the computer. It shows the music that was in our library but it wont let you access it. Does this mean that all hope is lost and so is our music? 
If not, and if you have the songs on your iPod and connect it to a PC, the songs are there, you just have to dig around in the iPod directory structure. The file names will look weird, but you should be able to rename them using a TAG-FILENAME conversion (I use MP3TAG).

Download the program named Podlift off of download.com. It is by far the easiest and most effective program I've found. You will be able to remove all of your songs, playlists, videos, podcasts, etc from your IPod. I've used it numberous times with great results.
