verizon vs at&t
hey just wondering who all thinks the new at&t commercials are stupid? like the one i just saw. it said something like "verizon likes to show off their maps, talking about the coverage map thing, but once you get closer it begins to fall apart". wth that doesn't even make sense. then they say at&t lets you talk on the phone and surf the web at the same time. who wants to do that? it's actually impossible to do unless you're on speakerphone and even then its nothing to brag about. then they say and at&t has the most populer 3g phones which is just an opinion. haha this little rant may seem pointless to some people but it just bugs me everytime i see that commercial because they make no good points on why to choose them.
AT&T's big hurt is their coverage... all my friends have Iphones and they are constantly dropping calls left and right like it is back in the 1990's again. I have verizon and I don't think I have dropped a call in over a year. (I drive cross country as well sometimes)
I am very interested in the new Droid right now

Yeah, the ads are ridiculous but they probably work pretty well on 20% of the population.
If you want a cool toy, buy an iphone and go with AT&T.
If you want a real telephone that actually works when you really need it, go with Verizon.

Verizons big hurt is stuffing their foot in their mouth, offering smart phones and forcing you to pay for a data plan even if you dont want to use it, or just want to use "wifi" networks, like your home network for example.

I don't really care for any commercials, but I guess that is the price to pay for free TV.
As for the phones, I guess it depends where you live. In my area AT&T works flawlessly, and far out performs the other networks as soon as I start to get into the hills. I have an iPhone, but honestly I could care less about what phone they offer (there are ways around that) since I don't usually get my phones through the network provider.

yeah i think that's funny too. the other day i saw something just out of the ordinary that had the coca cola logo on it, can't remember what it was, but it got me thinking. why doesn't coca cola just stop like half of its advertising in the U.S. at least. everyone knows what a coke is in the U.S. and i think their advertising has gotten to a point to where it doesn't help anymore.
In my experience, it depends where you live. AT&T's cell coverage is more widespread than Verizon. If you away from a metro. area, Verizon is better 'right now' if you have a smart-phone.
