truck insurance question

Well to start with I bought my truck new in 06 and since then 77k miles its gathered a couple dents and dings. But about 2 or 3 months ago when I was in the field my wife took my truck to work because her car was acting up and well I came home to a 6 foot scratch down the side of my truck that just happened to be the same color gray as wal-marts shopping carts and about the same height.

Can I just turn all of the scratches, dent, dings into my insurance and pay the deductible?

Thanks

Yes, but your rates will go up. Probably be cheaper in the long run to pay for it yourself.

May just all depend on you agent. I was at an adjuster one time and an older man pulled in with his new caddy with a door ding in the passenger door that he got an appraisal on. I ask the adjuster if he was doing what I thought and he said yes. Meaning filing a claim.

Its not one or two dings that truck ran all over oil rig sites in oklahoma and texas and has its far share of work. some hail coupled with tree scrapes and people dinging the doors in parking lots. the whole truck pretty much needs repainted there isn't one panel that doesn't have either a scratch or ding.

Back in the winter of 06 there was a real bad ice storm and a lady in a camero slide out in front of me in the mall parking lot and I hit her didn't do much to me just push my bumper back a little. but her car was totaled. I thought the insurance company told me that it wouldn't raise my premium because it was on private property but that was a while ago and a different company

Wait a couple of months, and maybe there will be another ice storm. Then file, and it will probably go through unnoticed

I think talking about insurance fraud on the internet is a bad thing all together...

If an ice storm really does ruin it, would it be fraud?

Guy i work with claims all kind of things on his insurance and he says his insurance has never gone up. He's claimed windsheild, two new rims and a trunk latch I believe. I dont think they can raise your premium when your not at fault. Good luck.

Thanks S.S. thats about how i am a guy I work with has the same insurance and he "says" they replaced his stereo that got stolen and re painted his car when a deer put him in the ditch and through some trees. But this guy has been known to stretch the truth.

I guess the I'm just going to call them and find out.
