Intereting Stats

I just happen to be reading the latest poll from Rasmussen Report and one of the numbers they gave seemed unusual. Anyone see anything interesting?

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/publ..._tracking_poll

Overall, 44% of voters say they at least somewhat approve of the President's performance. That’s the lowest level yet measured for this president. Previously, his overall approval rating had fallen to 45% twice, once in early September and once in late November.

Fifty-five percent (55%) now disapprove.

Seventy-two percent (72%) of Democrats now offer their approval while 80% of Republicans disapprove. Among voters not affiliated with either major party, just 36% approve.

Seventy-seven percent (77%) of liberals approve while 76% of conservatives disapprove. The bad news for the President is that there are a lot more conservatives in the country than liberals. However, he gets a bit of a boost because 57% of moderate voters still offer their approval.

The President earns approval from 37% of White voters and 98% of African-American voters.

I don't see anything interesting except this one and I'm pretty sure this is not a discussion we need to have on this board.

The President earns approval from 37% of White voters and 98% of African-American voters.

You don't think that's interesting? The president's own party only offers 72% approval.

I wasn't aware that Race was a forbidden topic of discussion.

I think it's very interesting.

When only 72% of your party approves but 98% of your race approves...It tells me a lot about the registered African-American voters that were polled.

You can say that about any of the stats they gave in their report, democrat, republican, liberal, conservative, etc. All the other numbers seem to make sense except that one.

Rasmussen Reports are usually considered quite accurate and unbiased.

That particular statistic leads me to question the emotional bias of the African-Americans that were polled.

In other words, based on that percentage (and his own party's approval rating), and assuming no errors were made in the sampling, how bad/crappy/incompetent would Obama have to be for them to dissaprove? It seems to imply that they 'approve' of him simply because he is an African-American.

IMHO that's a REALLY unintelligent method to determine the competency of anyone (black, white, purple, GM owner - well maybe not a GM owner). (j/k)

the only reason his "race" voted for him is to be the "first black president"

i did NOT vote for him and i am happy with that vote..yea mccain is an old geezer..but still

did yall see the..who was it..howard stern? radio show where they asked people if they are happy with obamas campaign..but they switched up his speeches and people didnt have a clue..just because it was obama they approved..the best one was "do you approve of sarah palin being VP if obama is president" "yes i do. i think she will be a great VP"

yeah this thread reminded me of that video. i think the video was posted on here around the elections. very amusing stuff that just proved that he was voted into office for his race.

Looks to me that 63% of whites are racist but only 2% of blacks. Kidding, I'm only kidding.
