Digital Camera
i know every holiday season digital cams go on sale for really good deals. a couple months ago i smashed my sony cybershot into about a billion pieces. I'm looking to spend maybe 150 dollars at the most and would like to have one that has a charging dock. what does everyone on here have?
I highly recommend getting a DSLR like a D40 or a D3000... but if you insist on a pocket shooter then a Casio or Canon is my best recommendation.
My experience with a pocket shooters is they work fine for non moving objects (like quick landscape shots or poitraits), but when you want to shoot like a basketball game or something moving, forget it.
For the price I'd highly recommend a D40 with a nice 18-200mm f/3.5-f/5.6 lens and the SB-400 flash. You'd have a keeper there forever! Plus it's got a professional 1/500 flash sync so it's excellent for stopping moving objects.
Or I recommend a Casio EX-H10... it's a great P&S with some outstanding properties... one in which I like is the color RGB histograms -- no other P&S offers them. Most P&S offer either Green or B&W histograms which is totally useless in trying to get a good shot.
Don't take my word for it, go to a Ritz or some photo shop (not Bestbuy or what not... unless they have a lot of cameras to choose from!)....
