Dude, it's Boeing. Your title is misleading too.

They blame the union for everything that goes wrong. There's way more to the story there, I know for a fact. Do a lot of reading about industry news. Of course a union will automatically gripe when a company outsources a job one of their members would lose. Nature of the business.

Aerospace companies outsource all the time. Companies outsource all the time. I see no problem with them outsourcing to keep up schedule. Boeing has a lot to lose if they can't keep a grip on their span times on the Dreamliner.

Good for them, the Machinist union strike hurt Boeing very badly. They are pushing now 2+ years late on the first flight. A very large part of the delay was due to union strikes. Any way you cut it the multiple strikes have hurt Boeing severely. Boeing had a huge advantage on Airbus. The 787 was the cat's pajamas and the A350 was a turd. Due to the delays Airbus has had time to regroup and catch back up. The lead has been squandered and the company as a whole is paying the price. Way to cut off your nose just to spite your face. I hope the unions enjoy the extra coke machine in the break room they fought soo hard for.
