My wannabe brother in law had one built at Office Depot for what I thought was cheap. He got a Quad core, loads of RAM,2- DVD recorders, I believe it's a 19" screen, extra battery, loads of stuff and paid less than $800.00. Best Buy would be the absolute last place I'd ever look for anything...unless you like getting screwed outa yer money. I've had real good luck at TigerDirect buying computer stuff:

Go with the first one. Windows 7 needs all the help it can get (high processor speed and 4 gb RAM). 500 gb HDD too! Asus makes great laptops! Good Call!!!

Asus makes excellent laptops. I wouldn't buy an ink cartridge from Tiger Direct, much less any components.

Strange GLC, you post a link to NewEgg after leaving not so kind remarks about TigerDirect- they're the same company for the last 2 years.

I'm not a fan of Gateway, but the specs look fairly good on it. I hope it's a good computer for you for many years to come
