NOCO Settings Keeper
NOCO Settings Keeper
I was browsing around Wal*Mart in the auto section and fell upon a nifty little device that I think anyone with a truck shouldn't be without.
It's called a NOCO Settings Keeper. It can be picked up from Wal*Mart for a lousy $4.96 plus applicable tax.
My take:
I was kind of leery with a 9v battery trying to hold back the current of a 12v when first plugged in thinking the battery might explode or something. But nope, I got right under the hood and and disconnected the battery of my friend's truck to replace the battery. He's got a really nice Pioneer AVIC-D3 with navigation and all the nifty toys and he didn't want to lose his settings and he didn't want to reset his ECU. We connected the new battery and removed the Settings Keeper, and voila, everything was good to go.
Just be careful though... don't open doors or do anything wierd like try to start the truck... you will wind up being sorry. Also, try to use a fresh battery if you happen to have one.
In conclusion, I think it is a wonderful product that no one should be without and it really does hold up to it's name.
