So, I've become interested in a particular feature of an old browser i used back a few years ago. Anyone remember MSN Explorer? irritated me sooo bad sometimes, but it had one feature i liked. I could be browsing and it would show that i've received a new email, i was always logged in, it was neat. can FF do this too?

 

I use Yahoo! mail, and there is an add-on called Yahoo Mail Notifier that I have used for a couple years effectively. I don't have any experience beyond this, sorry.

This is the one I use... but I use Gmail. It puts an icon in the bottom right corner and tells me how many unread emails I have.
