Runaway Toyota cases ignored

Safety investigators dismissed numerous reports of sudden acceleration, then said data were lacking.

People press the gas pedal to the floor where it gets caught in place by the floor mat.....holding full acceleration.
(Why can't the drivers put the runaway car in neutral?)

The last I heard, NHTSA* was going to force Toyota to do more than just pull, or replace the floormats. As these 5,000,000 vehicles are moved along to future owners, who replace worn floor mats, the hazard still exists.
I believe they're going to make them replace the gas pedals with shorter ones that won't reach the floor.

I won't bash Toyotas....they make decent vehicles.
TBH, If Ford made a good mini-van, my wife wouldn't be driving a Sienna.
90K and the only thing I've done is brakes.
I don't like their trucks.....I like F150's and have had four.
I find myself doing more work on the Fords....but I won't stop driving them.

Groups are forming of angry Toyota owners saying that it isn't the floormat causing the acceleration.

I don't know why, but that's a bad deal. There has already been 16 killed I think.
