Bobcat we have a lot of them around here in missouri, it isn't a cougar but there are those here too

I also think the second pic shows a longer tail than a bobcat. sure you can only see the end but it looks to me that it goes down then back up.

Yeah, I'd say cougar / mountain lion.

awalkinrain 11-05-2009 05:18 PM

big cat = cougar/mountain lion

I don't know but about a year ago on my way up to KC a cougar ran out in front of me on a four lane highway so I know their here and their freakin fast

efuehrin 11-05-2009 05:29 PM

Yea they are here. I just don't know why the MO dept of Conservation is always denying it.

I don't have any question in my mind that these are pics of a cougar. I'm 100% on it and I can't really see how anyone would confuse these pics with a bobcat or anything else really.

It just seems the the MO Dept of Cons. is trying to do a cover up for some reason.

I don't know why they'd cover it up unless they don't want to scare a lot of people. The second pic kinda looks like a bobbed tail though. IDK. Maybe the Dept of Cons. will tell you next that we don't have black bears either.

I ran it through some photo editing to get a more clear picture...

NC DoW was being blamed for all the coyote suddenly appearing in NC. Supposedly "Taking care of the deer over-crowding". The population can grow without being "reintroduced"

Just remember the DoW is as organized and informed as any other gov't agency.
