Any quad/atv people on the forum?

Obviously we all share the passion for the trucks we drive because we are here on this forum, but how about the atv scene? Anybody an ATV nut like I am?

Toying with my trucks falls a close second to my biggest hobby and money pit...the quads. Riding is one of my favorite pastimes, I just wish there were more hours in the day and longer summers...never seem to be able to get out as much as I would like.

So what kind of machine do you ride? Quad, dirtbike, UTV (side by side), snowmobile? Any modifications for performance or looks? Where do you ride? You a mudder, duner, trail runner?

I will start it off....

I'm mostly a dune rider, we don't have those huge dunes out here in Michigan like you lucky SOB's out on the West Coast do ( I will make a trip out there eventually)...but little ol' Silver Lake here in MI is still pretty damn nice. I like to make a trip out there at least once a month, but things don't always work out like I want. Did a total of 6 trips this summer, which was more than any other year...but still not enough for my liking. Unfortunately, the dunes closed up this past weekend...so I have to wait until April first of next year to get my next sand fix. I also do a bit of trail riding at my parents place in central Michigan, but didn't make it up there yet this year.

And here are the toys that I ride:

#1...2009 Polaris RZR-S, mainly stock besides a set of 25" skat track 7 paddle extremes for the rear, and 25" smoothies for the front...both riding on a set of 12" ITP SS 212 wheels. Also have a set of Dragonfire Racing 4pt harnesses...can't ever be too safe in one of these. I picked this one up for me and the ol' lady to ride together, but I scare her a little too much when I drive . We both really enjoy it though, much smoother than a quad...and pretty damn quick for a big machine.

#2...2007 Yamaha Raptor 700r GYTR edition. The mods on this one include a GYTR pipe, K&N air filter, Power Commander III fuel controller, 20" ITP Sand Stars on ITP SS 112 sport wheels, and some custom airbrushing on the hood and tank topper. This is my main dune toy, I love tearing up the hills with this machine. 82mph top speed, and it gets there really quick.

and finally, #3...2006 Yamaha Wolverine 450 4x4. The mods on this one include a HMF pipe, Dynojet kit, K&N filter, Hauck Performance machined clutch, 2007 gray plastics, painted bumpers and 12" ITP SS 108 wheels. This used to be my main machine before I picked up the Raptor, now I just use it for playing around on the muddier trails, and my old lady rides it a bit on the dunes (thats when I can pry her out of the drivers seat of the RZR )

So who is next?!? Let us see what you have and where you ride!

i own a 2005 yamaha grizzly 660. i love it. its an amazing machine. powerfull, durable, and capable of going just about anywhere. the thing takes a heck of a beater. but like you said langford, there aint enough hours in a day to ride. i havent taken mine out in weeks. and being winter is right around the corner, snow is the best time to ride so ima have to make time for it...lol

awesome quads

I rode a raptor 700 for years, but all my friends has 4x4's so I could not ride with them in the places that they would go. So in order to have a fast bike while being able to go where they go, I bought a 08' Brute Force 750. It is the best 4x4 I have owned thus far.

I really like the RZR-S you have, my friend is thinking about buying one so he can take his girl with him.

I do a little ridin'. Ride down in the Wayne National Forest, Hatfield McCoy in WV, and then a bunch of local places. I like the mud riding but I think trail riding is my favorite.

My 05' 4x4 Suzuki King Quad 700. No mods other than snow plow, winch, hand mitts

My 07' Suzuki ltz400 Only mod is the rear led tail light and mounting bracket and of course I had to get a six pack rack (no pics with the rack)

My old 05' Suzuki Vinson (R.I.P.)

and of course my 83' JD Mods: Bungee cord for brake return spring, wire to hold deck selector height in place, and a beer holder

Good to see another Z. Not to many mods. I love this quad. It sometimes thinks it can go through anything though...

Im a yamaha freak, No pics on the computer of them but I have a 05 raptor, 03 Grizzly, 02 yz 250, the raptor and yz get ridden mostly on a local motocross track, all 3 see a lot of trail riding at the farm, and the grizzly gets mudded and does a lot of work.

Not into the racing scene, but I love riding for the hell of it. I'd love to pick up a Raptor one day.

I currently ride a 05 Yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4 with the electrostatic tranny. Makes for very nice pick up without missing a kick shift.

we used to have an old 84 Suzuki 230 Quad Sport. So old it didn't even have a name! Went through 2 carbs in the 21 years we owned it. I even pulled a few wheel stands before we sold it. Haha. Of course it had 30" mud/bouy tires on the rear. (not sure of the brand)
