anyone installed a remote-start in an f-150?

My sister gave me a remote-start kit (not sure what brand) since she couldn't find any dealer/mechanic who would install it on her Mercedes. I was thinking about installing it in my F150 ('06 screw XLT 5.4), but don't know how complicated the process is. I'm pretty good with electronics, but I'm not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination (not really even a "car-guy"). But I have installed several car stereos/amps/subs/etc... without any problems, would I have a problem with doing this myself? Is there any gotcha's or issues with installing/using a generic remote start kit in an f-150? I haven't opened the package to look at the instructions yet because I was considering selling it instead of using it.

Any help is appreciated.

I Had the dealer install mine (a basic Audiovox) back in Oct of 98. Never any issues and is still working today. I just found the install instructions last week....Boy am I glad I didn't try to install it myself..Over my head!!!! It had about 15 wires & relay's to connect. I think for about $125.... It was well worth it to let them deal with it....
JMHO.

thank you for the helpful post. I don't doubt that I could do it, it's just more of a question of "is this going to take so long that it's better to pay someone to do it?".

I had someone install mine, my local audio shop. It took them about 4 hours. I don't got the patience for that. It cost a pretty penny tho.

Its fairly easy, as long as you know what wires are what color... Like if you get instructions from Travis (KCAutosound). If you didn't know that, it'd be a pain in the ***.

if your not good with wires, you could mess some stuff up. Might wanna be safe and spend the hundred bucks and have a professional install it.
