No more Dodge?
No more Dodge?
At MSN Money they are saying that Fiat will eliminate the Dodge line of cars per Wall Street Journal article quote. I guess that shows what a bunch of idiots we have in Washington. So much for the billions we gave them in bailout money. Fiat will be bringing the little cars over as well as reintroducing the Alpha Romeo. I'm not familiar with the current Fiat but they used to be on par with a Yugo. That's what we need, more taxpayer subsidized foreign crap on the roads.
Quote from MSN:
Chrysler meantime is preparing to phase out many of its current models, particularly Dodge cars, the Journal said.
If anybody has a subscription to the WSJ, how about a direct quote from the article.

Fiats are good cars and they own the Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa and Lancia brands.
If you're lucky, you'll be getting cars like these.

Honestly, Dodge has very little in their car line up that would compete.

Makes me glad im driving a Ford an not anything else. At least Ford is on stable ground. This bankruptcy thing has had a terrible effect on those car companies. How much money in total did GM an Chrysler get for a bailout. An will never see that money again. At least Ford isnt in that boat. An resale values are much better with Ford cars an trucks.

I'm not going to type up the WSJ article, but in a nutshell, Dodge, Chrysler and Jeep are not going anywhere... They are going to retire a number of car lines from each brand over the course of the next several years.
An NO, the Challenger is NOT slated for retirement anytime soon according to the article. Neither is the Charger or the Dodge Ram truck line.
They are going to start introducing cars made by Fiat and Alfa Romeo and sell them at the existing dealerships.
The Viper on the other hand will cease production in 2011.
