Is Anyone From Baltimore? Need Hotel Recommendation

Wifey & I booked a cruise that leaves from Baltimore at end of Feb, so I'd like something with indoor parking preferably where I can leave my truck for 7 days.

I'm a bit apprehensive about all the crime there and am worried about coming back to see my truck gone. Am I over reacting? I've watched "The Wire", it doesn't exactly look like the safest part of America to be in.

What I like about it is that I can be down there in a nine hour drive, and don't have to worry about flying, transfers and all the other bs that goes along with air travel.

I'd like to go down 1 or 2 days before the cruise, do a little sight-seeing, and then sail off to the Bahamas.

Let me know if you guys had any nice hotel experiences there and what you recommend.

By the way, if anyone is looking for a nice cruise deal, you can still get a 7 day cruise on Carnival Pride for $549, and that includes a unobstructed balcony.
My total (with taxes) was $1,219, (for 2 people)

Thanks
Habibi

I would look for something without chalk outlines and blood in the carpet.

Have you tried Expedia? You can pull up a boat load of hotels and they are rated by the people that have stayed there. I book most of my travel through them.

With all the people falling off those boats, I'd pay a little more and get a obstructed balcony.
Don't be so cheap.

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency when I went to see an Orioles game a few years back. I only stayed overnight but it was a nice room. The game was during the day and then at night we spent time at the Inner Harbor. It's really a cool place and the water taxis take you from bar to bar if you don't want to walk. I definitely suggest "sight-seeing" there.

I think two nights at the Hyatt will cost more than his cruise.

Maybe. But if you're vacationing, why not splurge?

I recommend leaving it in Ann Arundel/Annapolis/Townsend/Prince Georges area and taking a taxi over to where ever.

Baltimore, Glen Burnie, Dundalk, Essex. People notice a vehicle not moving. Some ahole kid will put a rock to the windshield or something else stupid.

I swear I said the exact same words before I even read your post Raoul.
I called the Hyatt, at aroound $300 per night + $25 a day for parking, I'm looking at $775 + taxes and fee fees and whatever bs charges they tack on.

I'm not saying it's not worth it, but I'm not a Hyatt budget kinda guy, I suppose it's all relative. I'm more of a Days Inn kinda guy

I found a hotel in the historic district that looks kind of nice:
The Admiral Fell Inn, they have a stay and cruise package, transfers to and from the ship, parking for 8 days, a room with breakfast for $139, seems like a good deal!

For the $$, you'll probably enjoy Hendersons Wharf Inn - http://www.hendersonswharf.com/inn/

Do a google search - lots of very positive reviews - rates in the $189-209 range but lots of freebies (parking, internet, etc)

We're thinking of a cruise ourselves.... $79 per person - the Somalia Coast Cruise... for some reason, they're only selling one-way tickets..

Ok found a nice spot guys, thanks for all your help.
Comfort Inn BWI

Booked it for 2 nights before the cruise (just in case we want to go early and do some sightseeing)

The first night (CAA rate) $58.
2nd night (Stay & cruise package) $129 includes breakfast, parking for up to 14 days and shuttle to and from Cruise Terminal.

They have a very liberal cancelation policy as well, 24 hours notice = full refund.

I was real close to booking another one downtown until one of the reviews I read said "Nice area in the daytime, but at night, watch out! peppered with pimps & wh ores", LMAO... next.
